The Mansion at Mountain Lakes:Top Wedding Venue

Before we talk about the amazing Mansion at Mountain Lakes, we’d like to talk a little bit about the rich history of the Borough of Mountain Lakes, NJ.In the early part of the 20th century, new planned communities started springing up across the United States, and Mountain Lakes Residential Park was one of them, and was founded in 1910.  Mountain Lakes was originally a rural woodland owned by a few families, and used to escape the heat of the city in the summer, but in the space of ten years, between 1900-1910 the entire face of Mountain Lakes changed from a wilderness of Dutch and English properties to a planned community of large stucco houses - over 500 hundred such houses were built - now affectionately known as “Hapgoods.” And, today Mountain Lakes is still prospering, with its original charm essentially intact, whereas other planned communities have lost their identities to intrusive development. Much of this preservation is due to the formation of The Mountain Lakes Historical Society in 1957, with the goal of preserving the town’s historical, architectural, and cultural heritage. Thank goodness they prevailed, as the borough of Mountain Lakes, NJ is an absolute dreamy place to say “I do!”

The Mansion at Mountain Lakes

But, that’s enough about the borough! Let’s move onto The Mansion at Mountain Lakes itself! The Mansion is an incredible venue that boasts a seamless blend of classic architectural details such as hand-painted ceilings with gorgeous crystal chandeliers, coffered ceilings, a majestic wood staircase in the grand ballroom, as well as fireplaces, stone walls and mahogany bars.  And not to be outdone by the inside, The Mansion at Mountain Lakes also boasts beautifully landscaped patio areas and gardens with stunning water features! Perfect for outdoor ceremonies, al fresco cocktail hours, or gorgeous backdrops for your wedding photos!

The Event Spaces

First-up we have the Grand Ballroom, which was built to pay homage to the grand rooms of the renowned Hapgood homes - which were built and used for entertaining and grand parties - that are still present in the borough today. The Grand Ballroom is capable of hosting weddings of up to 400 guests! And, along with the Grand Ballroom, your wedding will have the luxury of two private cocktail rooms that open up to artfully landscaped sitting areas as well as a secluded, outdoor garden, complete with romantic lighting and a flowing waterfall feature, perfect for wedding portraits. Next up, we have The Wildwood and Briarcliff rooms, which also offer you elegance - just on a smaller scale -  with crystal chandeliers, bright windows and entrances to the patio, and garden. These rooms are both capable of accommodating up to 90 guests! And, last, but certainly not least, The Mansion boasts The Belhall Grand Room, which is in fact the venue's most popular smaller celebration room! The Belhall can accommodate from 80 to 150 guests, and also offers access to the patio and gardens, and offers private indoor or outdoor ceremony space.
