On March 6th, 2010 SCE’s very own DJ Jeffrey Balkin had the pleasure to provide the entertainment for Rachel & Brett Gellman’s wedding reception at the Wilshire Grand in West Orange, NJ.
There was much to feature or talk about regarding this awesome wedding celebration. Style, Elegance and Energy are three words to sum the entire evening up. One of the unique highlights of the celebration were the live musicians provided by New Jersey Wedding specialists – SCE (a flutist and pianist) that performed for the ceremony.
At the reception the atmosphere was designed for Rachel and Brett with the use of our intelligent lighting and intelligent uplighting – the entire room had a constantly changing multi-colored glow to it. As the mood changed, so did our color patterns and lighting fixtures that were placed around the room. In addition to the lighting we had another surprise for their guests, the couple had Johnny Holiday pre-record the Bridal grand introductions for us – which brought in a stadium like feel to the grand entrance. For those who do not know, Johnny Holiday is the voice of the Maryland Terrapins. Immediately after the introductions, we went right into the Hora and later on did the Mezinka.
The Mezinka is a Jewish tradition in which the parents of the last child to be married, Rachel in this case, are seated on the dancefloor and all the guests dance around them and give their congratulations on the marriage.
The wedding consisted of over 250 guests that danced the entire evening. We gathered some footage of the celebration, including a candid bride and groom testimonial that praised Jeff’s efforts and the job done by SCE. Please take a minute to view Jeff in action-it was a great party!
